In April of 1990, I went to the Waterford Balley's (which at that time was called Vic Tanney) with my sister-in-law to see what it was like. The girl that met with us talked me into joining. After I filled all the paperwork out, she told me that I needed to bring back a cancelled check.. She also informed me that if I wanted to cancel that I should contact them within 4 days. The following day I called and cancelled the membership. I was then under the impression that everything was taken care of.

Now 15 years later, as I am trying to get my finances in order to buy a house, I find out that I was turned over to a collection agency and I owe over $1100.00 to Balley�s. 15 years later!

I used to go there in 2003-2005 and the womens steam room was falling a part and It is even worse now in 2008. However, the steam room for the Men is filthy and it clearly states how to dress properly, bare nakedness is not appropriate especially since the age for young boys to go to the gym is 13. Somehow the rules need to be enforced and the room needs cleaning and the women steam room needs major repair. The ceiling is falling in from all corners and crud or something drips on you from the ceiling. This place needs a major fine tuning. This concerns me.

I signed up for a membership in Jan/Feb 2008. At the time this would have been my second year with them. Circumstances changed for me and I was no longer able to make it to the gym. I used this membership ONCE! The day I signed up. Havent went back in months. They are now calling me INCESSANTLY! I spoke with a CSR last month and told her I didnt want the membership and to cease all direct withdrawals from my acct.

I got the long lecture, I just told her it was inconvienent and I wasnt going to pay for somthing I couldn't use. Since that time.. I have received 4- 5 calls per day! Today I received phone calls at: 8:07 , 8:43 , 9:20 , 10:07am on a freaking SUNDAY MORNING! FOUR CALLS! I am sick of this. I called and told them this was abusive practices and to cease and desist.

The CSR said its not and they can call as many times as they want. And that I have to send a cease and desist letter to headquarters. We'll see if that helps. I honestly believe they have broken the law regardless and cant do that! this non stop calling has been going on for 2 weeks!
