NUFIC FRAUD NATIONAL FIRE INSURANCE COMPANY MALFEASANCE "YOU ARE A BUNCH OF THIEVES." (CUSTOMER QUOTE, SEE ITEM 13) ABSTRACT: Should Wells Fargo Bank provide account numbers, and do business with NUFIC, a company that routinely defrauds the clients it receives by referral from Well Fargo ? Should the account holders of Wells Fargo Bank be made aware of the gross malfeasance of its insurance affiliate? Should Wells Fargo Bank be required to reveal the financial gains either by commission or direct payment it receives from NUFIC for their shared malfeasance? Wells Fargo and its affiliate, NUFIC have conspired ( by means of debit and fraudulent representations) to stealthily extract funds on a monthly basis from its least moneyed account holders. In the aggregate these seemingly minor sums amount to a massive amount financial fraud. Both Wells Fargo Bank and NUFIC have conspired to defraud their clients through a flagrant disregard of fiduciary responsibility in pursuit of profits that can be described as nothing less than criminal racketeering. These include violations of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act; the Telemarketing and Consumer Fraud and Abuse Prevention Acts. The use of wire and telephone communications to mislead consumers in attempted solicitations is also a violation of 1998's Access Devices Regulation Act.
ITEM 1
ITEM 2 Funds were removed from my bank account by auto. w/d since April 2010 by a company NUFIC. I did not see this until Nov. 2010. I went into the First Tennessee branch located on Ringgold Rd. in Nov. and called NUFIC on speaker phone in front of the young lady that I was referred to. The company said I had authorized the charges. The bank clerk said to have them send proof. I requested proof and refund of the funds. NUFIC refunded part of the funds but did not send proof of authorization. I called again on Jan. 21, 2011. I was told that the authorization was not mailed because I had to request it in writing. They gave me an address in Jacksonville, FL. I have written the letter and contacted the bank again. First Tennessee advised me that they are not associated with NUFIC. The bank does not know how the company acquired by account info. The bank is investigating this and I plan on filing complaints with the authorities in TN, FL and contacting the attorney general offices of both states. Beware - NUFIC is a scam. ITEM 3
I have never spoken to this company in my life and would not have purchased their "product," which seems to be fire insurance, if I had. They simply charged my account. I received no services nor even any communication from this company--they just flat out stole my money. Luckily, my bank is stopping the payment. On the phone with the bank representative, we tried to contact the company via a three way call and their wait line just hung up on us. Big surprise. I'm very glad that my bank is refunding my money, so I will not mention them here. However, I do wonder if it wasn't my bank that gave them my info in the first place as even the representative said it could have been them. Google searching revealed that a ton of people have been ripped off and stolen from by this company and that this has been going on for some time. It's ridiculous that they can continue to get away with it. The only way I imagine this works out for them is if people don't notice the charges for a while. I could see this happening. In my case, I don't have much to begin with, so it was noticeable. But, the way it showed up on my statement, with just random initials and as a "debit" charge, even I wondered if it was something I purchased and forgot about. Clearly, they count on this. Who knows how much money has been made by these people for nothing at all. It's not right. Someone needs to be held accountable. This charge caused an auto payment of mine to not go through and now I will have to pay additional fees for being late on my internet bill--not to mention the time and aggravation I have spent already just trying to get this money back. Absurd! We need to form a class action law suit and find out who is behind this.ITEM 4 Autistic Child Ripped-Off by NUFIC My autistic brother Patrick is this companies lastest victim. I am his older sister and I opened a checking account for him at US Bank so he could save the money he recieved from Birthdays, Christmas, ect. All of the correnspondence for this account was supposed to be sent to me and he was never to be contacted. I opened his bank statement, which normally has no transactions, to discover he has $0.24 in his account and that there was a debit for $25.95 within the last few weeks. I have his debit card and his account information, he has no way to access his account on his own. When we went to US Bank, they were no help what so ever. They gave us the phone number to their affiliate and wished us luck. When I called NUFIC's customer service center and explained to them that Patrick is autistic and my mom has legal guardianship of him and he should have never been contacted in the first place and that I want his policy cancelled and money refunded I was told to write a letter and given an address. I was also told that he was contacted by phone and he agreed to take this policy. When I told them I wanted to hear the phone conversation where he agreed to this, I was told to request it in my letter. When I asked specific questions about how he, who only has used his checking account maybe 10 times in five years was pre-qualified, I was told by manager Jimmy Johnson that he was not sure and to ask that in my letter. When I asked for a phone number to speak to a NUFIC sales person I was told they did not have one. My husband then called and ran into the same dead ends as I did. We are now going to go to US Bank and fill out the Federal Regulation form E and we will try to contact a National news affiliates local office. I'm sure they will gobble this story up around Christmas time. It blows my mind especially after reading the stories in this site that this company is able to stay in business. I for do not plan on letting this go. I want this company to be held accountable! ITEM 5 NUFIC National Union Fire Insurance Company I don' know who this company is and they somehow got my account information and debiting from my account without authorization. How did this happen? I've never signed up for anything,The only insurance I have is on my car. NUFIC is stealing money from my checking account. I neveragreed to sign up with them, take a free trial or anything like that. How do they gain access? This is a fraud!!! Where they got my bank information??? This is a SCAM!!! ITEM 6 This company is obviously a scam and I have no idea how they received authorization to take money from my credit card. I never signed anything nor did my husband. They have been taking this money since June 2010 and we did not know. The way it looks on the statement is like credit protection insurance (which we do have) so we never noticed it. I'm going to have a few choice words with BofA as $1,152.00 is the total they have robbed from us.ITEM 7 8/4/2011 The National Union Fire Insurance Company has been taking money from my bank account for months, unbeknownst to me. When I looked up these charges, I was told that they stemmed from a call from a telemarketer three years ago, who offered me a gas voucher. I'm certain I declined, as I am neither a car owner nor a licensed driver, yet have over $360.00 in charges from this company. I have not utilized any of the "services" this company provides, as I wasn't aware that I was "covered" by them, and in fact have my own health insurance and no need for this additional accident insurance. I feel robbed and scammed. I do not recommend using this company for any of its services, and if a telemarketer calls on the company's behalf, I would hang up immediately!
ITEM 8 This company got my information from a payday loan site and without any authorization, this company has been debiting 10.95 a month from my bank account. When the bank told me where this was coming from, they gave me the number and I called them to find out who this company was. When I called I asked questions and they act as they didn't really want to state what the company was. I asked one representative how they got my information he stated that I sent it in by mail, inwhich I knew was not true.. he stated he will cancel and send me a refund for my premiums. Well a week past and I did not see a refund.I called back and spoke to another representative and was told the refund was declined and I stated why and she could nottell me. I told her that I did not authorize them to come out of my account She said she spoke to her manager and they will only send me 10.95, but i have to request the other through their corporate office by mail and they didnot have a number for corporate office that I could contact. So I asked this representative how they get my information and she stated from a payday loan site. I was angered stated that it was noway that i gave authroization for someone to take anything out. I was given a mailing address for corporate office, so today I sent in a refund request letter, and we will see! This is a scam company!!! This report was posted on Ripoff Report on 12/1/2009 5:19:54 PM and is a permanent record located here: http://www.ripoffreport.com/insurance-companies/nufic/nufic-national-union-fire-insu-fe448.htm.NUFIC Is stealing money from my checking account. I never agreed to sign up with them, take a free trial or anything like that. How do they gain access? I have insurance through Geico for my car, no personal insurance to speak of, definitely no need for FIRE insurance. Following up with phone call tomorow, then resorting to legal action. Apparently this has been happening for several months. This report was posted on Ripoff Report on 6/9/2011 11:12:00 PM and is a permanent record located here: http://www.ripoffreport.com/credit-debt-services/national-union-fire/national-union-fire-insurance-5ebad.htm.I recently opened an account with US Bank. I have since gotten a few valid offers such as if I donate a dollar to one of four charities, they will put $10 into my account. I am very skeptical of anyone contacting me with outlandish offers, but this one was simple, so I figured it could be a legitimate offer. This company contacted my by phone and said they were an affiliate of US Bank, and offered me a $30 gas gift card in order to sign up for their insurance. There was a free trial period of 14 days of which I could cancel at any time. After that, they would remove the monthly fees from my account (which I never gave them any personal information other than my address to send the card.) I actually had forgotten I recieved the call until I got the letter in the mail confirming my coverage date to begin on November 19, 2011. It also states on the bottom that they do have no affiliation with the (FDIC) bank and there is a line for my signature. I immediately called and cancelled, and I have never gotten that gas card. Upon cancelling, I called my local branch because I wanted to inform them that this company is not holding up their end of the deal. I also let US Bank know I am not mad at them in any way. I was talking to the manager and she told me she had never heard of this company, and to forward her a copy of the letter they mailed me. I filed this report because they used a false offer in order to get me to try a free trial of their services. I am glad I cancelled, and I am just wanting to inform others of this company! ITEM 9 This is my story and I,Lana ------ declare that on August 19, 2011, I went to my Wells Fargo Bank todeposit some money and I asked the teller about some of my current transactions. The WellsFargo teller told me that I had a $24.90 monthly deduction going to NUFIC.I asked, What is NUFIC? and the teller said that there was a phone number but wasn't sure what NUFIC was and referred me to another Wells Fargo workerwho explained to me that as she looked up my bank account that NUFIC had deducted the $24.90 monthlydeduction for three months and that is the farthest that she could see and moreover telephoned NUFIC for me and she was put on hold and then further explained that NUFIC was CHARTIS INSURANCE CO. I was very surprised and disappointed that I had never heard of NUFIC and did not know why $24.90 monthly deduction was beingdeducted from my account and how did NUFIC get my information? The onlyanswer that the Wells Fargo worker told me was that NUFIC was a thirdparty agent to Wells Fargo and that they did not need to get authorizationfrom me. Furthermore the WellsFargo worker explained to me at NUFIC and their telephone number was on my monthly Wells Fargo bank statements which I've neglected to look closer atrec ently. Addionally as the Wells Fargo worker spoke toa NUFIC worker by the name of Angelina Smith and I authorized both of these workers to close down this $24.90monthly deduction and stop this account immediately, asap. On August 23, 2011 I received a letter from NUFIC stating that," I elected toenroll in accidental isurance plan by means of a telemarketing phone call. This accidental insurance plan was offered to you as a valued customer of WellsFargo-DDA. Lana ------ gave express authorization to enroll for this accidentalinsurance." I was very surprised and disappointed that this insurancecompany was so...dishonest. I never authorized NUFIC to deduct any monies everfrom my account. On Sept. 6,2011 I spoke with a NUFIC worker, Debrastating that I wanted an investigation into this fraudulant unauthorizedaccount and Debra said that they would look into it. I have not heardfrom NUFIC yet. I have been speaking with several Wells Fargo workerswho two weeks ago filed a claim for me. Yesterday I received a letter saying that my investigation was closed, that NUFIC did not have my authorization and that they had deposited $24.90into my account. Additionally today I received my second letter from Wells Fargo saying that I could onlyreceive 60 days of a claim and that they deposited $74.00 into my account. Moreover today I spoke to a Wells Fargo claims supervisor regarding their improper investigation into not receiving my monies due from NUFIC. Wells Fargo claims supervisor claimed that she would get therecorded message with my authorization from them and that it should only take 2days to receive that. I informed her that I have been waiting since Aug. 19,2011 for that recording and I told her good luck! ITEM 10 I just found out an unknown charge of $24.95 by "NUFIC Hpp INSR" has been automatically withdrawn on Wellsfargo bank checking account for 3years totaling $1000, which I thought it was utilities bill for a long time. I called customer service. They fee was from telemarketing call which solicited accident insurance. They said I gave verbal permission to enroll. This I never did nor did NUFIC ever produce an alleged recording which I never made. They have business connection with my Wellsfargo bank. They know my account number, and automatically withdrew the money from my account. I never signed or received any insurance documents or paperwork from National Union Fire Insurance in the past 3 years. This is a fraudulent charge and insurance scam. Also, Wellsfargo Bank should not give out customer's account information to National Union Fire Insurance Co or to anyother third party solicitors. All person scamed should file a law suit together for this company. Email: clearite@hotmail.com
ITEM 11 I've gotten a pair of letters from National Union
Fire Insurance Company based out of Jacksonville, FL warning that my policy
is about to expire and to pay now. The gotcha? I know all of my insurers very
well, and this ain't one of them. All my policies are through State Farm, and
come addressed from right here in San Francisco.

17 Mar 2011 So did I. Who are they? How did they get into my backing account? I am headed to my bank ASAP. They took 30 dollars out of my account. SCAM ALERT replies to GodsRose1 Jun 2011 800-296-0244 This company took money out of my Huntington Account WITHOUT PERMISSION. I have never heard of National Union Finance. This company needs to reported. Murray 8 Nov 2009 17.85 was charged to my checking account. NUF stands for National Union Fire -Insurance Co. which is in New York. AIU says it is connected to Wells Fargo and is located in Jacksonville Florida where you will be told to write the Program Administrator to cancel. I am in the process of sending a certified letter for cancellation - something I did not ask for in the first place. They were going to deny me cancellation until I told the telemarketer that if she put their phone number in the computer, it would come up as fraud and I was going to report them to the Attorney General. If you look up AIU, it too will come up as a scam.
Gee replies to Murray23 Jun 2010 Gee mary loo replies to Gee19 Aug 2010 I am having the same issue, a company called National
Union Fire Insurance have been charging me $23.85 every three months, I called
them twice asking for this insurance I never ask for, they said they send me a
paper work with the policy which I never receive, I ask to cancel that account
and they said they need to send me the policy again to be read again to be sure
I wanted to cancel, but I never read it before, that paper work never came to
me, when I called them again, they said they did not have any account under my
name or address, I ask them how in the world is possible the fact that they are
still charging me that amount if they are saying this time that they can not
find an account with my name? also I talked to them before so they find my name
at that time? Kat 3 Dec 2009 One year ago (2008) I opened a Chase credit card to
make a single purchase at Buy.com. I have not used the credit card since the
initial purchase. Suddenly in November 09 I received a statement showing a
charge of $29.85 from "NUF*DIS INSR", and giving a phone number of
800-296-0244. I immediately called Chase, and was told that I must have
purchased some insurance -- which I had not. I requested to have that charge
removed and the credit card account closed. The person said I would not be
responsible for the charge, and the account was closed. I had to fill out a
fraud report, which they sent to me and I returned to them on 11-24. I then called the number for NUF*DIS INSR to find out
exactly what the charge was for, and under what authority they had charged my
account. The person to whom I first spoke evidently saw a flag on my account and
refused to talk with me, handing me off to a supervisor. I was told that I had
received one year of free complimentary insurance from Chase, and now I was
being billed $29.85 every three months to continue the insurance. I told her I
didn't want it and had not signed to purchase insurance, and had already filed a
fraud report. She then launched into a sales speil about the insurance benefits
-- which I interrupted to close the conversation!

jbhairs 15 Mar 2010 I received a charge for this also, with the notation " NUF DIS INS $17.98" 800-296-0244. It turns out it was for additional accident insurance offered by the bank. They offered $1000 free to account holders and you can purchase additional. It is billed in 3-month increments so the charge would be for whatever additional amount you may have specified for yourself or for family coverage. You may have received the offer in your regular statement or in a separate mailing. I tracked mine down and that is what it turned out to be. I hope that helps! Caller: None
Lady Di Florida 27 Mar 2010 Wow! I have taken over paying bills for my 80 year old friend who has had dimentia for awhile when I spotted TWO charges from this company: $9.96 & $19.90 on her Chase Account. I tracked it back to mid-2009 since they have been charging her. It almost looks that when Chase bought WaMu is about when it started. All your references have been very helpful & now I'll know where to start to get these cancelled-it would be great if fraud could be proven & she would get all this money back, but who knows what she might of done with her dimentia. But thank you everyone for your help..... Bytesnsytes 27 Mar 2010 If you are out money due to fraud in your area then I suggest you gather up all the proof such as bank statements, credit card statements, letters and emails received from the company causing the fraudulant activity and then once you have all proof dial the non-emergency number for your local law enforcement agency and file a fraud report. Once you file the report get a copy of the police report and take it to your bank or fax to your credit card companies. Close the accounts and re-open with new account numbers and advise them you want the fraud investigated and the funds that were taken by fraudulent means returned to you. If they refuse then your bank is not a very good bank to deal with as the funds are FDIC insured and if you have proof of fraud and filed a police report then you should be able to get all your money back unless there was a large gap in the time it happened until the time you report it. Elizabeth Homard 9 Apr 2010 I see I am also being charged 17.85 on my bank statement, will notify Chase tomorrow to stop this or I will cancel my account with them, will notify my bank of fraud. NUFIC Fraud Redux: In October of 2011 I discovered a debit for 24.95 from my credit card account. The origin of the debit was not identified by name. Upon further investigation I tracked the fee to an affiliate of Wells Fargo Bank called NATIONAL UNION FIRE INSURANCE COMPANY or NUFIC. Since any given fee might be summarily overlooked I ventured back into my statements to see if the same sum had been withdrawn in any earlier records. There I discovered debits of $24.95 by the same source reaching back to February 2010--22 months of theft by NUFIC facilitated by its collusion with Wells Fargo Bank. The Bank officers I've spoken to either have or feign no knowledge of their Bank's affiliate, NUFIC. Phone calls from NUFIC or their telemarketers began shortly after arranging overdraft protection with an officer of Well Fargo Bank. I would later be played doctored and blended recordings of these telemarketing conversations in which only selected portions of my conversation are in response to questions asked by the telemarketer. This doctored recording is the claimed authorization for 22 months of payments that supposedly indemnified me against financial losses occurred by unforeseen doctor's appointments. This is important--not only because the policy is itself is absurd but because Well Fargo Bank was responsible for the linkage to its fraudulent affiliate. Wells Fargo Bank also provided the account numbers from which the fraudulent payments were extracted. Whereas, NUFIC will claim a spurious phone authorization, the Bank surreptitiously facilitated their involvement. Overdraft protection from Wells Fargo Bank lead to telephone fraud by NUFIC and fiduciary exploitation by them both. Wells Fargo Bank has said NUFIC'S possession of my authorization (be it doctored or no) is sufficient to deny any claim. I have never seen the policy for which NUFIC extracted 22 payments. NUFIC refuses to provide me with a copy of the said document. Wells Fargo has returned one payment of 24.95 to my account. As others have recorded below and as I will probably soon discover the Bank will claim they are not responsible for any fees beyond the first month that they appear (hence their return of one payment). This claim is, however, null, void, and disallowed if conspiracy and collusion can be shown to be at the heart of the debits in question. A bank's client is not responsible for debits from an active account that has been criminally violated by the financial institution by which it is held--no matter what the duration of the malfeasance in question. I have never authorized the 22 monthly payments that Wells Fargo Bank and National Union Fire Insurance have debited from my Wells Fargo Account. I canceled the "insurance" in question as soon as I became aware of it. It should be noted that NUFIC's policy was invisible. I never received documents of any sort either by regular or email mail. They were identified only by a series of letters and numbers: 2446539NG68DX6N7N WF*NUF HPPINS47502220NovT8005725848IA ...................................................................................................24.95 which suggested a Wells Fargo fee (WF) & a (T) but obscured its true identity as a debit for a ludicrous insurance policy from National Union Fire Insurance Company. These monthly deductions from my Wells Fargo Visa Card Account are equal to a large portion of the principal presently owed to Wells Fargo Bank for expenditures on my credit card. Wells Fargo collects a handsome interest for a debt for which they and their affiliate NUFIC are responsible. The bank's principal and interest is secured by a thousand dollar security deposit of which it is also in possession. Once again: Wells Fargo Bank collects interest on a loan for which it is responsible and which is secured by a deposit for which it pays no interest. I believe that Wells Fargo Bank and its affiliate, NUFIC are guilty of malfeasance. This malfeasance is only possible by a relationship that makes willing use of Wells Fargo Bank's customer accounts. Wells Fargo Bank assures me they are investigating my allegations. I am also assured that their investigation will conclude shortly. I and an ever-growing list of Wells Fargo and NUFIC plaintiffs* have been assured before. We and Another America breathlessly await their verdict.
* The complaints in question have been sent directly to anotheramericaliterary@anotheramerica.org and amassed from numerous public complaint forums. Interested parties need only enter "NUFIC FRAUD" or "Wells Fargo Malfeasance" in their favorite search engine to further and near endlessly extend the testimonies that have been recorded at this website.
